Privacy & compliance
Reference for principals and district reviewers. Not legal advice — your counsel and DPA govern actual use.
MI retrieves — you decide if you want AI.
How MI fits a school workflow
Search returns ranked records from your district’s memories. No generative AI in that step — you verify scores, timestamps, Explain, and Proof.
Export for AI (dashboard) builds a FERPA-aware text block you copy yourself. MI does not send student data to ChatGPT, Copilot, or any external model.
Ask (optional) synthesizes from retrieved sources only. Turn on when district policy allows AI on verified records.
FERPA
Education records stay under district control. Use Search and cryptographic Proof before sharing or pasting exported text into any approved tool.
Colorado — Student Data Transparency (HB 19-1071)
Districts must understand what ed-tech vendors collect, why, and how data is secured. MI is positioned as the retrieval and receipt layer: what was stored, when, and how to verify it — not a replacement for your transparency inventory or DPA.
COPPA & younger students
If records involve children under 13, follow district policy on approved tools and parental consent. This demo does not automatically transmit student data to a generative model.
Product styling for the live portal will follow Memory Intelligence dev portal patterns (see memoryintelligence-site PR #6). This page is demo reference content for the school vertical.
